The WIFI Baby 3.0 is a great little nannycam, loved by customers
The WIFI Baby 3.0 is another nanny cam with not a whole lot of features, but customers rate it highly so it is definitely worth a look. It comes with IR night time vision, an optical zoom, wide angle lens, sound and motion alerts and has an SD card slot for local storage.
My WiFi Baby 3.0 Review
With the WiFi Baby 3.0, you can monitor your baby or children while you are away at work and receive alert notifications via video or audio on your iPhone, iPad, Android device or even your PC or Mac, anywhere in the world – so long as you have an internet connection.
SD card storage
Unlike many other WIiFi nanny cams, you do not need to upload the video recordings to the cloud (so you have no monthly cloud storage fees). Instead, everything is recorded locally to the camera itself via the SD card.
The ability to save your images or videos to an SD card is a huge benefit that not all nanny cams offer and makes it easy to both store and transfer images between devices.
If you are working away and you don’t want to miss out on favorite times, such as bath time, then you can schedule live video recordings and watch them at a later date.
You can also set up a weekly recording schedules to record videos at specific times and easily play back the recorded footage at a time that suits you.
Extra nanny cameras
You can also use up to 4 cameras in the WiFi Baby monitor network, so you can monitor your baby from different rooms in your home, not just the nursery.
Even better, you can view all four video footage on the one mobile screen, toggling through each camera as needed and receiving notifications from all four cameras on your smartphone, iPad or tablet.
You can also view the live video footage on different mobile devices at the same time, so parents, grandparents and friends can all check in on your baby together. This is great if you want to keep grandparents in the loop or you all want to watch your little one taking his or her first hesitant steps.
This nanny cam does not have 2-way communication, so you can’t talk to your baby or toddler via the nanny camera. Some people don’t like this, because they really want that function, others are not bothered.
If this is an important feature for you then check out the iBaby M6 nanny cam, because if you purchase this nanny cam you only have an audio function, which means you can hear your baby or toddler when they wake or are unsettled, but you can’t talk to them. It does have a white noise filter though, so the audio quality is excellent.
You can also receive SMS or email notifications when your baby wakes (iOS only), so you will always be aware of what is happening at home.
This is the one huge bonus with this nanny cam and the one feature that everyone loves – customer support is really helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you set up the camera at home and it is working correctly.
You have free US based customer support for the first 12 months – $19.99 per year following thereafter.
To make this WiFi Baby cam work on your mobile device you need to download the iOS app (free) or the Android app ($3.99).
These are generic apps, but WiFi Baby are working on a branded app for their nanny cam, so keep an eye open for this in the near future.
WIFI Baby 2.0 vs WIFI Baby 3.0
Finally, the WiFi Baby 3.0 is the updated version of the WiFi baby 2.0 with a slightly larger viewing angle, a 30ft IR night range (compared to 20ft in the WiFi Baby 2.0), a new lens and an IR cut filter providing true color video during the day and in low-light conditions.
WIFI Baby 3.0 vs WIFI Baby 4.0
Basically, the WIFI Baby 4 has a greater viewing angle, high definition images and double the zoom functionality. Remember however, that the zoom comes from the app and not from the camera lens.
So why does the WIFI Baby 3.0 rate better than the WIFI Baby 4.0?
Whilst customers experience problems with setting up both of these baby cameras, as well as problems with connectivity – they have more of these issues with the WIFI Baby 4.0, than they do with the WIFI Baby 3.0.
Customer support is very helpful in sorting out these problems, but customers still currently rate the WIFI Baby 3.0 higher than the WIFI Baby 4.0, despite the increased functionality in the newer version.
The WIFI Baby 3.0 is great for people who want to:

Inclusions for the WIFI Baby 3.0
To run the WiFi Baby 3, you need either Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8, a MAC OSX 10.4 Tiger or Mountain Lion or Apple iOS 8.0+, Android 4.4+.
What do customers say about the WIFI Baby 3.0 nanny cam?
Most customers give the WiFi Baby 3 camera a 4 or 5 star rating.
Positive comments concern the great picture quality (day and night) the durability of the camera and the prompt and friendly customer service who are happy to help with setting up your nanny cam, 24/7.
The main complaint with this WiFi Baby camera is in lost connections. It appears that a number of customers have had a problem with their connectivity and setting up this nanny cam at home.
This is a hard one because (to be honest) whilst most people do have a problem with setting up this camera, they have also found that customer support has been invaluable in fixing their problems.
Maybe some of the connectivity problems are due to the home internet service and not the WiFi Baby monitor?
WiFi Baby are clearly aware of the problem that many customers have with setting up this camera, so they promote their free 24/7 expert help in setting up your nanny cam – their customer support is US based.

Features I like about the WIFI Baby 3.0
With the WIFI Baby 3 you have an SD card slot, along with sound & motion alerts on your mobile devices. You also have 30 foot IR night vision, which is further than most other nanny cams. Customer support are also very helpful and the quality of the images and the audio is impressive as well.
Points to note about the WIFI Baby 3 nanny cam
With the WIFI Baby 3.0, you don’t have 2-way communication, but you can hear what is going on – you just can’t talk to your baby or children at the other end.
My thoughts on the WIFI Baby 3 nanny cam
This is a fairly expensive WiFi Baby camera and for that money the camera does not include 2-way communication, lullabies or a temperature sensor.
The one problem with this camera is the set up, but customer support appears to be very handy in this regard. Of those customers who gave a low rating to this nanny cam, it might have been because of their in-home connectivity problems, which from reading the more positive customer reviews, might not be the fault of this camera.
On the plus side and the reason why this nanny cam scores so highly is that you have high quality images and a fairly wide viewing angle. You also have an SD card slot – so you do not have the added expense of monthly cloud storage bills (like some nanny cams) and can easily store and share your videos and snaps.
So overall, the WIFI Baby 3.0 is a great little camera and if you are super focused on high quality images as your priority, then this is the baby cam for you!
